Ebimeeza (singular, ekimeeza) are town hall-style meetings that debate issues under the guidance of a moderator. They have their roots in the traditional Kitawuluzi institution where residents of a village in Buganda meet and communally resolve civil cases under the guidance of the local (muluka) chief. The modern Ekimeeza concept was invented by CBS FM Radio Buganda, which also hosts the most popular kimeeza in Uganda, Mambo Baado. The biggest attraction of the Ebimeeza form is that they promote unrehearsed and transparent exchanges of opinions.
Based on email suggestions we have been receiving, the following topics are on very high demand and will be discussed during the Ebimeeza sessions.
- Buganda Land (Obutaka)
- Federo
